All the camps have comfortable tent and caravan stands, each one equipped with an electrical power point and a "braai" (barbecue) facility. A maximum of six persons, one caravan with a side tent and one vehicle, or one tent and one vehicle, or one autovilla, or one motorised caravan will be permitted per site.
Cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery are not provided. In most rest camps however, these items can be hired from reception. One should check and confirm this when booking. Excellent communal ablution and cooking facilities are available at all camping sites
Camping sites in the Kruger National Park are to be found at the following rest camps: Balule, Crocodile Bridge, Letaba, Lower Sabie, Malelane, Maroela, Pretoriuskop, Punda Maria, Satara, Shingwedzi, and Skukuza.

Kruger National Park Accommodation
Most of these are plain, single-room, African style round Huts with thatched roofs, also called Rondavels. They can be equipped with 1 to 5 beds, depending on the size of the Hut and usually they all have a "braai" (barbecue). All huts have either ceiling fans or air conditioning.
These Huts have no bathroom and cooking facilities, but they do have a fridge and either a fan or air-conditioning. Cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery are not provided, but can be hired from reception.
This type of economical accommodation is available at the Lower Sabie, Pretoriuskop, Balule, Letaba, Shingwedzi, and Orpen rest camps. An exception is made in Orpen camp, where basic cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery are provided, because the camp does not have any restaurant facilities.

Bungalows also have the African style round-walled or rondavel type of design. They basically consist of a single room with 2 to 4 beds (sometimes 6 beds) and an en-suite ablution facility, which includes a toilet and a shower ( sometimes it may be a bath instead of a shower).
All Bungalows have a fridge and most of them have air-conditioning. Some of them (only a small number), are equipped with fans. Kitchen facilities vary, some units have hotplates and sinks, some have only sinks and some have neither. Cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery are either provided, or it can be hired from reception. Please check and confirm when booking.
The Bungalow is the most common unit in the Kruger National Park accommodation range and can be found in the Berg en Dal, Crocodile Bridge, Letaba, Lower Sabie, Mopani, Pretoriuskop, Punda Maria, Satara, Shingwedzi, Malelane and Skukuza rest camps.

Luxury bungalows,...
Luxury Bungalows are available at the Skukuza rest camp only. They are a more luxurious "one-bedroom with en-suite bathroom" type of accommodation, most of them along the river frontage of the Skukuza rest camp. Including a modern design, a fully equipped kitchen and glass sliding doors to a patio, they all have a double bed, quality décor, air-conditioning and Television.

These are two-bedroom units, equipped with either 2x single beds or one double bed, or with 3x single beds. They are fully equipped with a kitchenette and an en-suite bathroom and they all have air-conditioning, a fridge and their own private “braai” (barbecue) area.
Family Bungalows are available in the budget accommodation area of the Lower Sabie and Punda Maria rest camps.

Guest Cottage at Shingwedzi camp

This type of accommodation is of a more modern design, quite different from the African style rondavel Bungalow. Cottages comprise an open veranda with roof, one bedroom with 2x single beds or 1x double bed and a ceiling fan, a living room with 2x lounge chairs and 2x sleeper couches, a kitchen and a bathroom with bath, shower, toilet and washbasin.
The bathroom has inter-leading doors to the bedroom and living room. The kitchen is on the veranda where the meals are also taken and includes a two-plate gas stove (without oven), a sink, a refrigerator, cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery.
Cottage accommodation can be found at the Punda Maria, Mopani, Biyamiti, Shimuwini, Sirheni and Talamati rest camps.

Guest Cottage at Pretoriuskop

Bedrooms and living room are all equipped with a ceiling fan. The kitchen has a gas stove (with oven), fridge/freezer combination, sink, cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery.
An outside veranda, roofed and partly enclosed, serves as both dining room and lounge. Some units have two double beds and visitors should check and confirm interior contents when booking.
Guest Cottages are available at the Skukuza, Mopani, Olifants, Lower Sabie, Satara, Orpen, Pretoriuskop, Letaba and Shingwedzi rest camps.

Family Cottages at Berg-en-Dal camp

Family Cottages are similar to Guest Cottages, except that they are often situated in prime positions, some with a river view.
The two bedroom units (1double bed, 2 single beds, and 2 bunk beds in the lounge), have a separate bathroom (shower, toilet and washbasin), an open plan kitchen, a dining room and a lounge. The kitchen has a gas stove, a fridge/freezer combination, a sink, cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery.
The three bedroom units (1 double bed and 4 single beds), have well equipped kitchens and living rooms. They also have two bathrooms, the one en-suite (bath, toilet and washbasin), and the other one separate (shower, toilet and wash-basin). The kitchen has a gas stove (with oven), a fridge/freezer combination, a sink, cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery.
Family Cottages are found in the Skukuza, Berg en Dal, Pretoriuskop and Olifants rest camps.

These are top of the range fully equipped luxury accommodation units in secluded prime positions within a camp, most of them with a river view. They have either three, four or six bedrooms, most of them with en-suite bathroom.
Each one has a well equipped kitchen (including microwave ovens),a dining room, a large comfortable lounge with television and an open veranda or look-out deck.
Guest Houses are available in the Berg en Dal, Letaba, Lower Sabie, Mopani, Olifants, Pretoriuskop, Satara, Shingwedzi, and Skukuza rest camps.

Bushveld camps provide accommodation in smaller, more remote and private rest camps. One or more accommodation units may be reserved. Bushveld camps do not have shops or restaurants. Access to all bushveld camps is restricted to overnight visitors with reserved accommodation.
Electrical equipment such as hair-dryers, cannot be used except at Talamati, Biyamiti and Bateleur. Open verandas often serve as kitchen/dining room. All units have a refrigerator, cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and a stove, either a two-plate stove without an oven or a four-plate stove with an oven in the larger units.
Al l units have private ablution facilities. Communal freezing facilities are offered at Biyamiti, Shimuwini, Talamati and Sirheni. Cellular phones can be charged at reception at Shimuwini and Sirheni.
The Bushveld Camps in the Kruger National Park are as follows;

The Bush Lodges in the Kruger National Park are luxurious private lodges in smaller, more remote locations. Each one has its own unique style and atmosphere, within its own private camp away from the tourist rest camps.
Occupants enjoy complete privacy as only residents are allowed entrance to the camp. There are no reception, shops or restaurant facilities. Visitors can check in at any main rest camp or gate.
Bush Lodges have fully equipped kitchens with a gas stove (with oven), a fridge/freezer combination, cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery. Gas and wood “braai” (barbecue) facilities are provided. For food and other supplies one has to go to the nearest main rest camp.
There are two Bush Lodges in the Kruger National Park which can only be booked en-bloc as a whole;
The Boulders Bush Lodge can accommodate a maximum of 12 persons at a time. The main sleeping unit has two bedrooms, each one with en-suite bathrooms, the one with a bath and the other with a shower. In addition there are four separate bedrooms with bathrooms (bath and shower).
Cottage at Roodewal bush lodge

The Roodewal Bush Lodge can accommodate a maximum of 19 persons at a time. There is one family cottage with two bedrooms and two en-suite bath rooms, the one with a bath and the other one with a shower. In addition there are three Bungalows, each one with three beds, a loft with two mattresses, A bath room (with shower) and a small refrigerator.

There are two types of Safari tent accommodation. The one consists of a 2 or 4 bed single-room permanent canvas tent only equipped with beds, a fan, a fridge and a “braai” (barbecue), but no bath room or kitchen facilities.
Occupants have to make use of the communal ablution and kitchen facilities. This type of accommodation is available at the Crocodile Bridge, Skukuza, Letaba, and Tamboti rest camps
Luxury Safari tent at Tamboti camp

The other one is a more luxurious single-room 2 x bed type of Safari tent, fully equipped with a double bed, furniture, fan, fridge and bathroom and kitchen facilities. Cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery are provided.
These Safari tents are built on a wooded deck on stilts, away from the ground, often with a great view of the bushveld surroundings. This type of accommodation can be found at the Lower Sabie and Tamboti rest camps.
