Bontebok Park accommodation,
private and secluded with magnificent views

Among the South African national parks that have received facelifts, is Bontebok Park. The park has in fact undergone a major renovation according to a press release by the South African National Parks organization.

There are no fences around the camp site and you will see some wildlife wander through the camp regularly.

Up to now accommodation consisted of six-berth caravans, also known as "Chalavans" by Bontebok Park insiders, fitted with basic kitchen equipment and sharing communal facilities.

In addition the Park offers a beautiful camping site, considered as on of the better ones among the many South African National Parks camping sites, but with no electricity.

The new "Lang Elsie's Kraal" rest camp offers 10 new chalets which can sleep up to four people. Visitors will enjoy magnificent views of the Breede River valley and the Langeberg mountain range, which can be appreciatedfrom the private sun-decks to the south and west sides of the new accommodation units.

The new chalets have ramps throughout and are totally accessible to wheelchairs. Two of the 10 units will be "special-needs adapted" with bathrooms and living spaces which meet current best practice for use by people with special needs. All accommodation is serviced daily and provided with bedding, towels

The revamped caravan site offers electricity for caravanners. For those who like to camp the rustic way (no electricity), they are also catered for. Most of the caravan and tent sites are private and secluded, surrounded by lovely green trees and bushes. A maximum of six persons, one caravan with a side tent and one vehicle, or one tent and one vehicle, or one autovilla or one motorised caravan are permitted per site.
